Hudson Valley Swim – over 20 years of teaching excellence, now expanding into Michigan

Pay: $20–$25/hour (based on experience)

Job Type: Part-time to start, with growth into full-time as classes expand

Hudson Valley Swim has been teaching students of all ages how to swim safely and confidently for over 20 years. Our mission is simple:
Swim Lessons Save Lives. As we expand into Michigan, we’re looking for a dedicated Lead Instructor to launch our Clinton Township location. This role begins with a three-day training at our New York headquarters before opening in early November 2025.

As Lead Instructor, you’ll guide students through every stage of learning, while also helping to shape the program and mentor new instructors. You’ll start with weekend day classes and weekday evening classes, with hours expanding as enrollment grows. This is a career role designed to develop into a full-time leadership position

• Teach swim lessons to students of all ages and skill levels (starting at 4 mo. through adults)
• Provide a safe, structured, and encouraging environment for students and families
• Track student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
• Maintain high instructional standards to support program growth
• Mentor and train future instructors as the location expands

• Administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling, light sales (booking prospective clients), and email correspondence
• Community marketing, such as attending local events to represent Hudson Valley Swim

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of swim instruction experience
• Communication and interpersonal skills — able to connect with students, parents, and teammates while remaining dependable and professional
• Availability for weekday evenings and weekend day shifts
• Ability to complete training at our headquarters in New York prior to opening

Preferred:

• Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid Certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience teaching infants, young children, adults, and special needs students
