OverviewSupports the school district in ensuring a safe, orderly, and clean environment by monitoring the lunchroom and students while maintaining confidentiality.
Position SummaryProvides childcare support in the lunchroom. Requires presence in the lunchroom from 10:10 am to 12:10 pm, 2 hrs/day. Pay $14.99/hr effective ASAP. Work following replacement of Star Jewell.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervises and monitors students in the lunchroom and playground before, during, and after lunch.
- Ensures students comply with school rules and communicates to monitor behavior.
- Assists students with opening food items, microwaving lunches, handing out napkins, straws, utensils, etc.
- Washes tables during and after lunch.
- Maintains punctuality in the lunchroom.
- Communicates with community, staff, and students to answer questions and disseminate information.
These duties are considered essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience working with children preferred.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations.
- Skills: Good communication skills.
- Abilities:
- Being caring, understanding, friendly.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions.
- Read, write, and interpret school policies.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, community.
- Write simple routine reports.
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Requires use of hands, standing, walking, reaching, occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
Work EnvironmentNoise level loud to very loud.
