APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with a leading manufacturer in Clinton Township, MI to add a Maintenance Manager to their already amazing team. In this role, you’ll lead and mentor the maintenance department, ensure equipment uptime, and uphold the highest standards of safety and reliability.

What your day will look like

• Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians, setting clear goals and action plans
• Review, inspect, and approve all equipment, machinery, and tool repairs; maintain detailed cost, warranty, and trend records
• Coordinate major repairs and preventative maintenance on injection molding machinery, conveyors, and auxiliary systems
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations (spills, containment, hazardous materials)
• Lead root-cause analyses and corrective-action plans to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Manage maintenance budgets, track KPIs (downtime, repair costs, uptime), and report to plant leadership
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and support cross-functional initiatives

What we are looking for

• Journeyman-level skills in hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical trades (or equivalent)
• Some college coursework in hydraulic circuits, blueprint reading, electrical controls preferred
• 6–8 years supervising maintenance in an injection molding or similar manufacturing environment
• 8–10 years hands-on experience repairing and maintaining plastic-molding machinery
• Proven ability to disassemble, diagnose, repair, and reassemble complex equipment safely
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for tracking maintenance records and reporting
