Senior Accountant

H2O America is actively seeking talented, driven and effective applicants for the position of Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for delivering excellent service to our customers and shareholders by performing a wide variety of tasks associated with the completion and maintenance of the Company's financial systems and reports. The Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation of balance sheets and income statement analysis for senior management.

• Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books and the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, corrections, and journal entries.
• Prepares a variety of financial reports, including annual reports, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, and various other agencies.
• Assists in the preparation of the quarterly variance and account analysis reports for external audit firm.
• Assists in the preparation of the External Auditor & Sarbanes-Oxley work papers concerning quarter and year-end information. Provides support for ongoing audit and SOX requirements.
• Assists in the implementation of software upgrades as needed or as requested by Management, such as general ledger (JD Edwards) or property accounting (Power Plan) software.
• Prepares and reviews journal entries, which may include maintenance of certain recurring entries, indexed computation entries, and compilation of utility/regulatory accounting entries.
• Support treasury, budget and rate case processes.
• Assist in the maintenance of the chart of accounts for all companies.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Salary Range:
The salary range is determined by geolocation, with the overall range expected to be $66,000 to $135,000 annually. Specific ranges are listed below.

• Connecticut and Maine: $75,
• California: $95,268 - $171,462
