Job DescriptionThe Water Distribution Maintainer (Field Services Representative - Construction) is responsible for delivering world‑class service to customers by performing operational and maintenance tasks on the Company’s water distribution infrastructure. This includes work on water mains, service lines, hydrants, and other below‑ground assets.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Installation, Maintenance & Repair
- Repair, replace, and install water mains, service lines, and fire hydrants in accordance with state and company specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities such as flushing mains, inspecting and servicing hydrants, and maintaining valve access boxes.
- Maintain Company‑owned facilities through tasks such as snow removal, tree trimming, road repairs, and property maintenance.
- Customer Service Operations – Perform customer‑facing tasks including meter installations, valve operations, meter reading, and investigative service work.
- Meter reading and meter infrastructure maintenance and replacement.
- Assist in maintaining customer accounts.
- Water quality sample collection.
- Water main and water service installation inspections.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety – Execute "Call Before You Dig" procedures accurately and promptly. Conduct cross‑connection inspections and testing in compliance with State Department of Health regulations. Adhere to all safety protocols, including those outlined in the Company Safety Manual, OSHA standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Additional Duties – Support other company departments as directed, stand‑by on call obligations, participate in special projects or perform other duties as assigned.
