Develops and implements nutrition care plans based on nutritional assessment of patients and interdisciplinary health care team members. Patients served range in age from newborn to geriatric and supports, facilitates, and participates in the elder-focused social model of care.

• Determines interventions to improve nutritional status.
• Provides diet instructions, assessments, recommendations and orders as requested by a physician for specialized nutritional support (TPN and enteral nutrition).
• Provides nutritional services to outpatients, renal dialysis patients and community service groups as assigned.
• Communicates with physicians and health care professionals on a wide variety of medical conditions.
• Communicates nutritional needs to patients/residents and families.
• Demonstrates proper use of equipment and supplies necessary to function as a clinical dietitian.
• Provides patient evidence‑based nutritional care as appropriate.
• Recommends appropriate therapeutic diets for a patient’s medical condition as appropriate.
• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, and other policies and procedures to ensure adherence.

• Must be registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) or be registry eligible.
• Must be licensed by the State of Iowa or be licensure eligible.
• Must pass the CDR registration exam within 6 months of hire date.
• Prefer one‑year professional experience.
• Baccalaureate degree majoring in food and nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
• Successful completion of an ACEND accredited postgraduate or equivalent dietetic program that fulfills requirements for registration in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Must have knowledge of specialized nutrition support and a working knowledge of disease entities and their relationship to nutrition.
• Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared‑leadership environment.

• Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
