Mercy One Clinton Medical Center is a Catholic, not-for-profit, full-service community health system serving counties in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. With approximately 50,000 patient admissions every year, Mercy One Clinton operates 249 licensed beds. In addition to a wide range of traditional hospital services, Mercy One Clinton provides a continuum of care with specialized services in wound care, radiation oncology, dialysis, imaging, sleep disorders, therapy services, and skilled care.
Mercy One Clinton has a staff of more than 800 employees, making it one of the community’s largest employers.
We are looking to hire a Unit Secretary/CNA who will be a member of Mercy One Clinton Medical Center’s healthcare team and work under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse to provide quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living and other physical, emotional and spiritual needs consistent with the mission of Mercy One Clinton.
- Perform clerical and receptionist duties under the direction of the Unit Director.
- Transcribe selected physician orders and perform order entry on the computer.
- Schedule diagnostic tests and therapies for patients.
- Assemble admission and discharge charts and maintain patient medical records.
- Complete documentation for billing and provide routine approved information via telephone and in person; relay calls and messages to appropriate staff.
- Demonstrate professional behavior consistent with the mission and standards of Mercy One Clinton and established policies and procedures.
- Certified Nurse Aide; verification of certification from the State of Iowa.
- Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a related field preferred.
- Must be able to work concurrently on a variant of tasks in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
- Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to changes.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and values of Trinity Health.
- High school education or equivalent required.
