With approximately 50,000 patient admissions every year, Mercy One Clinton operates 163 licensed beds and a wide range of services including wound care, radiation oncology, dialysis, imaging, sleep disorders, therapy services, and skilled care.

As an Environmental Service Worker at Mercy One, you will clean client rooms, nursing units, special care units, nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, bathrooms, offices, and all other areas assigned in accordance with maintaining a clean, infection‑controlled environment. Ages served range from newborn to adult.

• Use the correct cleaning chemicals for the surface being cleaned to prevent permanent damage to fixtures and equipment.
• Handle any patient’s valuables or health‑system property that must be moved to clean areas with caution.
• Assist with patient care as needed.
• Understand and perform unit‑specific or special cleaning procedures.

• 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday rotation

• Housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills, normally acquired through an elementary level of education, are required to measure and prepare cleaning compounds, read directions, and apply cleaning chemicals safely.
• Must have manual dexterity.
• Must be able to clean isolation areas.
• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared‑leadership environment.
• Must possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring, and the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote Mercy One’s philosophy, mission, and values.

• High‑School diploma or equivalent preferred.
