RT LEVEL II Technician - Clinton, IA (experience required)
The NDE Technician will perform calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. They are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT method being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians.
Responsibilities- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators
- Organize and report test results
- Perform specialized inspections
- May instruct and supervise others
- Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned by management
- NDT Level II RT with OJT and state card required
- Experience with NDT Level II MT, PT, UTT preferred
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results
- Knowledge of NDT equipment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Complete and pass a DISA Background check
- Complete and pass all required Drug Screens
- Complete and pass site‑specific safety council
- Must test out in all required methods with XCEL
- Strong work ethic

Physical Requirements
- Move, carry and lift objects in excess of 50 pounds
- Climb and perform work from ladders, stairs and scaffolding in excess of 100 feet, continuously throughout shift
- Climb ladders and platforms up to 250 feet with a harness and lanyard
- Step up into vehicles or onto equipment
- Work extended hours and stand for extended periods of time
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
- Work in and near industrial hazards
