Float Pool RN – Float Registered Nurse
Trinity Health at Mercy One Clinton Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool.
Responsibilities- Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006); retain accountability for one’s own nursing practice.
- Responsible for planning, assessing, intervening, co‑coordinating, and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
- Communicate with physicians, ancillary care‑givers, patients and families regarding the patient’s plan of care.
- Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body, mind, and spirit) nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of Mercy One Clinton Medical Center.
- Perform assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.
- 12‑hour night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am, every third weekend; holiday rotation.
- Active registration for Registered Nurse – Board of Nursing, State of Iowa.
- BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
- ACLS certified within one year of hire.
- PALS certified preferred.
- 2–4 years experience as an RN preferred.
- Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and assessment of patient condition capabilities.
- Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, and vision of Trinity Health.
- Associate’s degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
