Overview
Mercy One is a Catholic, not‑for‑profit community health system serving eastern Iowa and western Illinois. With approximately 50,000 patient admissions each year, Mercy One Clinton operates 163 licensed beds and offers a continuum of care including wound care, radiation oncology, dialysis, imaging, sleep disorders, therapy services, and skilled care. The mission is to improve community health by keeping people well, not just treating illness.
- Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006); retain accountability for one’s own nursing practice.
- Plan, assess, intervene, co‑coordinate, and provide direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
- Communicate with physicians, ancillary caregivers, patients and families regarding the patient’s plan of care.
- Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body, mind and spirit) nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of Mercy One Clinton Medical Center.
- Perform assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.
- 7:00 pm – 7:30 am; every third weekend; holiday rotation
- Active registration for Registered Nurse – Board of Nursing, State of Iowa.
- Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
- Must be ACLS certified within one year of hire.
- PALS certified preferred.
- 2-4 years experience as an RN preferred.
- Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization preferred.
- Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be capable of problem solving, critical thinking, and assessment of patient condition.
- Experience preferred.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Mercy One Health System.
- Associate’s degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
