Job Description
The candidate must possess experience with procedures involving both adult and pediatric patients. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) shall directly provide all professional anesthesiology services and/or supervise and manage anesthesiology services to benefit individual patients at the Hospital. This obligation extends to fulfilling the Hospital's requirements for such services in a timely manner, which may include scheduled or on-call coverage, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The scope of general anesthesia encompasses general surgical anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, thoracic anesthesia, and obstetrical anesthesia; as well as intravenous sedation, intravenous regional anesthesia, regional blocks, and conductive anesthesia, as dictated by the needs of Hospital patients, including inpatients, surgical outpatients, and those receiving emergency care.
Responsibilities- Provide pre-evaluation anesthesia services following guidelines approved by both the Group and the Hospital.
- Deliver post-surgical monitoring for complications related to the administration of anesthesia.
- Respond promptly to emergency codes for which an anesthesia provider is specifically paged, contingent upon practitioner availability.
Clinical services performed by the CRNA shall adhere to currently approved and generally accepted medical standards, subject to modifications over time.
The CRNA shall work collaboratively with members of the Operating Room Leadership Team, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff. The individual must embody a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and compassion, possessing the ability to inspire and motivate others to advance the philosophy, mission, vision, goals
Qualifications- Board Certification as a CRNA (NBCRNA) is required.
- Possession of an Iowa license (or willingness to obtain) or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is required.
- A minimum of five years of CRNA work experience is preferred.
- Experience with procedures involving both adult and pediatric patients is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain within three months of hire) is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications (or willingness to obtain within one year of hire) are required.
