We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse for our Float Pool. As a Registered Nurse, RN Float Pool at Mercy One, you will serve as a clinician, team member, and professional and practice under the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (2004).

With approximately 50,000 patient admissions every year, Mercy One Clinton operates 163 licensed beds and offers a wide range of traditional hospital services as well as specialized services in wound care, radiation oncology, dialysis, imaging, sleep disorders, therapy services, and skilled care.

• Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006) and retain accountability for one’s own nursing practice.
• Responsible for planning, assessing, intervening, co‑coordinating and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
• Communicate with physicians, ancillary caregivers, patients and families regarding the patient’s plan of care.
• Fulfill the responsibility of holistic nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of Mercy One Clinton Medical Center.
• Perform assessments, including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.

• 07–1930; weekend package — additional compensation for working 48/25 weekends per year
• Friday–Sunday

• Active registration for Registered Nurse – Board of Nursing, State of Iowa.
• Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
• Must be ACLS certified within one year of hire.
• PALS certified preferred.
• 2–4 years experience as a RN preferred.
• Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization preferred.
• Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must be capable of problem solving, critical thinking, and assessment of patient condition.
• Experience preferred.
• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

• Associate’s degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
