Full time

12 Hour Night Shift

• 7:00 pm – 7:30 am; every third weekend and holiday rotation

• Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006); retains accountability for one’s own nursing practice.
• Responsible for planning, assessing, intervening, co-coordinating and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
• Communicates with physicians, ancillary care‑givers, patients and families regarding the patient’s plan of care.
• Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body, mind and spirit) nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of Mercy One Clinton Medical Center.
• Performs assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.

• Active registration for Registered Nurse - Board of Nursing, State of Iowa
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred;
• Labor/Delivery experience preferred.
• Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
• PALS certification required within one year of hire date.
• NRP required within 6 months of hire.
• EFM certification preferred. If not certified, required within one year of starting labor and delivery orientation.
• Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization preferred.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance own professional nursing practice.
• Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended.
• Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Mercy One.

• Associate’s degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
