Position: Full-Time Assistant Store Manager,

When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including assisting with supervising day‑to‑day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while identifying training opportunities to develop and grow the team.

38 hours per week

Starting Wage: $24.50 per hour

Wage Increase: Year 2 - $25.50 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Assists the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports to ensure mutual understanding and desired results
  • Identifies training and development opportunities for direct reports to achieve enhanced performance
  • Understands overarching company strategy and models core values to create teamwork and membership among employees
  • Monitors competitive environment and informs leadership of necessary adjustments
  • Provides product feedback and recommends items to carry or discontinue
  • Participates in interviewing store personnel
  • Communicates weekly information, major milestones, developments, and concerns
  • Ensures adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies to minimize losses
  • Handles operational customer concerns in leader’s absence
  • Identifies and rectifies hazards, maintains proper ergonomics, and keeps equipment in working order
  • Maintains store cleanliness and signage standards
  • Assists with stock level maintenance through appropriate product ordering
  • Merchandises product neatly to maximize sales
  • Ensures quality and freshness of products and accuracy of signage
  • Assists with achieving payroll, loss budgets, inventory counts, and training new employees
  • Supervises day‑to‑day operations of the team, escalating issues appropriately
  • Ensures direct reports complete responsibilities timely and effectively
  • Complies with all company policies while safeguarding security and confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
  • Stock merchandise, place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelving at various heights
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the store
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
Job Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to provide and lead customer service that is prompt and courteous
  • Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication to enhance growth
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance
  • Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
  • Ability to apply management principles concerning budgeting and expenses
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and conduct general cleaning to company standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stay organized and multi‑task efficiently
  • Meets state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
Education And Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • Combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Prior management experience preferred
