Med Star Emergency Physicians is a talented group of aligned Physicians and Physician Assistants/Associates across Med Star Health who are highly trained, providing emergency care to patients of all ages. Our clinicians collectively evaluate and treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries, including general medical and surgical conditions in adults and children, as well as trauma and burn care. Our commitment to stabilizing and improving the health of our patients is a priority.
We provide compassionate and personalized care, treating patients when they are experiencing a health emergency.
Med Star Emergency Physicians is comprised of nine top-tier emergency departments (EDs) in the mid-Atlantic region. The team includes more than 300 board-certified emergency clinicians, both physicians and physician assistants, who care for more than 440,000 patients annually.
Med Star Emergency Physicians (MEP) is home to the Georgetown/Med Star Washington Hospital Center Emergency Medicine Residency program and several fellowship programs for emergency medicine graduates in Sports Medicine, Emergency Ultrasound, Medical Simulation (SIM), Health Policy, and Telehealth. MEP's newest department, Med Star Acute Care Coordination Center (MAC3) functions completely virtually, offering a variety of services including tele-triage for ED patients, evaluate, treat, discharge for low-acuity patients, and tele-consults with Med Star Health Urgent Care.
MEP is operationally linked to Med Star Transport, a robust ground and aviation patient transport network.
