Spanish Teacher - St. Mary of Piscataway School - Clinton, Maryland

St. Mary of Piscataway School in Clinton, Maryland is hiring a part‑time Spanish teacher for the 2025‑26 school year. This is a 24‑hour per week role reporting to the Principal. Please forward your resume and letter of interest to: principal.morenoool.

Responsibilities include designing and delivering curriculum in accordance with the Archdiocese of Washington Academic and Religious Standards, adjusting instruction based on assessments, and fostering a Catholic learning environment. Key duties cover planning, instruction, classroom management, communication, Catholic identity, and non‑instructional responsibilities.

• Plan lesson plans aligned with Archives standards. Utilize standardized test scores to adjust lessons.
• Deliver a balanced program of instruction incorporating direct and guided instruction, group practice, questioning, demonstration and discovery.
• Assess student progress with formal and informal assessments and differentiate instruction accordingly.
• Assign appropriate homework and support lessons.
• Establish classroom procedures, enforce clear rules, maintain a respectful learning environment, and set high expectations.
• Maintain a grade book, monitor grades, communicate status to parents and administration, produce quarterly progress reports.
• Actively foster Catholic beliefs and values, assist in liturgical ceremonies, lead prayer, and teach religion classes as applicable.
• Perform custodial duties such as carpool, recess, lunch shifts, sponsorship of clubs, and attendance at after‑hour events.
• Participate in faculty and professional development as required, and obtain state certification within three years.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Current teacher certification in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC (candidates have 3 years to earn certification).
• Knowledge of child development and supervision.
• Experience teaching in an elementary school setting (preferred).

While a conscientious effort has been made to include all duties and expectations of the Archdiocese of Washington elementary school teacher, the above is not all inclusive and the position’s duties may be expanded or modified at the discretion of the Principal.
