Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a NICU RN with at least two years of Level II NICU experience, MD or compact license, and required certifications for a night shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Level II Special Care Nursery in a hospital setting

• 3x12 hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30

• Patient population includes newborns 32 weeks gestation or greater requiring specialized monitoring

• Float required to Postpartum and Labor and Delivery for neonatal care

• Every other weekend and every other holiday required

• Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal stability in newborns according to protocols

• May assist with specialized neonatal procedures such as lumbar puncture and endotracheal resuscitation

• May initiate, modify, or stop treatments based on established orders and protocols

• Pre-start and orientation modules required, with an average of 12 hours to complete

• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius accepted at a different rate

• RTO allowed up to 7 days per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted in the first two weeks

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required

• BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required

• Minimum 2 years of Level II NICU experience required

• CPAP experience required

• Two recent supervisor references required

• First-time travelers with NICU experience will be considered

• Return staff must have a minimum 1-year gap in Med Star employment
