General Utility Worker

8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735 Position Summary

This is a Union position and reports directly to the Foreman. Relative to interments, candidate will operate heavy equipment, backhoe, loader and general machinery relative to digging, backfill and tamping of graves, installing memorials and concrete liners, assemble and knockdown of gravesite set-ups, ground maintenance and other duties as assigned. This is a full‑time, Union position. 40 hours per week Monday‑Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Saturday work may be required with overtime pay.

• Able to lift 80 lbs, and serve graveside as pallbearer if necessary
• Work in all outdoor weather conditions
• Perform repeated tasks of bending, kneeling, stooping, pulling hand‑over‑hand, digging and extensive walking
• Operate hand tools, small machines and equipment
• Operate heavy equipment (trucks, tractors, backhoe, etc.)
• Hear conversational voices with or without hearing aid assistance

• High School or G.E.D. diploma, as well as a clean driver’s license required
• Ability to read a map and drive in adverse weather conditions
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn and support, the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of equipment highly desirable
