CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Department Per Diem Days
Join a dedicated healthcare team in a vibrant regional medical center serving the Southeastern United States. This role involves providing essential patient care within the Emergency Department during day shifts on a per diem basis.
SummaryAs a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will perform fundamental patient care duties, observe and report any changes in patient conditions, and maintain a clean and well-stocked patient environment. Your role supports nursing staff by assisting with patient admissions, implementing care plans, and ensuring patient safety through proper equipment use.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or notifying appropriate personnel.
- Support nursing care plans by carrying out delegated tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in the patient care area.
- Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
- Perform additional skills such as phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and waived lab testing as qualified.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant credential required.
- Current registration as Nursing Assistant II with the state nursing board and Nursing Assistant I with the Division of Facility Services.
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant I is preferred.
- Strong guest relations and communication skills.
- Ability to read and write English effectively.
- Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
- Ability to learn new skills and techniques quickly.
- Capability to work variable shifts.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning.
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
- Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate safety precautions.
