Responsibilities

Performs functions associated with patient information processing for ambulatory care visits. Completes the tasks of reception, registration, Gau charge reconciliation process, appointment scheduling, eRecord task management, In Basket management, and telephone encounter management using the electronic medical record and patient access and revenue cycle systems. Ensures patient satisfaction with information processing and reception service. Requires accuracy in order to generate a billable service for the provider.

Responsible for functions being completed in an accurate, efficient, and customer friendly manner. May act as a resource to new staff.

Essential Functions
  • Greets patients, verifies identity using two identifiers, identifies provider, checks referring provider and patient's PCP, guides to next destination, obtains signatures, assesses special needs, monitorslogging area, provides warm hand‑off to registration and insurance management (RIM), updates patient waiting times, protects PHI per HIPAA, ensures cleanliness.
  • Collects demographic and financial information efficiently, verifies accuracy, enters data into EMR, confirms email address, ensures completion of necessary forms (Medicare Secondary, HIPAA, Financial Assistance, etc.).
  • წელი Schedules new and return visits, monitors schedules, reports problems, pre-registers patients, coordinates ancillary testing or referrals, follows up missed appointments, prints after‑visit summaries, collects co‑pays, prepares end‑of‑day deposits and reconciles discrepancies.
  • Answers phone in a timely, courteous manner, manages incoming clinic calls, routes calls to appropriate providers, opens telephone encounters employment coordinates outgoing calls, provides information, forwards calls, pages providers, and takes messages.
  • Edits and corrects registration errors, assists with charge reconciliation, ensures schedule accuracy, identifies ways to reduce repetitive work, manages multiple processes in EMR, including In Basket and referral queue, ensures accurate and concise information is entered.
  • Assesses urgency, routes patients, handles complaints, utilizes service recovery concepts, serves as front‑line problem solver.
  • May escort patient into treatment corridor, records vitals, collects height and weight, recordsау medication list, obtains vital signs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • High School diploma and 1 year related experience in an administrative office or customer service field.
  • Completion of Vision Care 1, 2, 3 courses.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

    Medical terminology experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to word‑process documents and enter data into a database preferred.
  • Demonstrates ICARE values to patient, families and staff preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills related to achievement of customer satisfaction preferred.
  • Ability to act as a resource to less experienced staff preferred.
