Construo Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist roofing, cladding and building envelope contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator with a background in metal and flat roofing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator to join a growing commercial team, working on high-value roofing and building envelope projects across the UK while playing a key role in securing profitable new business.

As Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for metal and flat roofing packages, from initial enquiry through to tender submission and project handover.

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for metal and flat roofing projects

• Carrying out quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and site information

• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations

• Building accurate labour, plant and material costings

• Reviewing tender documentation to identify scope, risks and exclusions

• Identifying value engineering opportunities and alternative technical solutions

• Liaising with clients, suppliers and internal teams throughout the tender process

• Supporting the handover of successful projects to operational teams

• Maintaining estimating databases, tender trackers and pricing records

• Assisting with framework submissions and pre-qualification questionnaires

• Proven estimating experience within metal roofing, flat roofing or the building envelope sector

• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Experience carrying out accurate quantity take-offs

• Good commercial awareness with strong cost and margin understanding

• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong Microsoft Excel and estimating software skills

• Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Experience estimating rainscreen cladding or fire remediation projects

• Construction-related qualification such as Quantity Surveying or Building Surveying

• Knowledge of major roofing manufacturers and systems

• Salary between £45,000 and £55,000 depending on experience
