Medical Assistant/LPN Clive FM role at Mercy One

• Cross coverage in other clinic areas as needed.
• Follow equipment maintenance protocol, identify problems, and coordinate repairs.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Demonstrate ability to recognize urgent/emergent patient needs and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of payor regulations and function within guidelines.
• Follow clinic procedure for electronic medical record management.
• Act to facilitate interdisciplinary communication and utilize team members in patient assessment.
• Assist with diagnostic equipment (EKG, spirometry, etc.) and maintain aseptic technique.
• Accurately document patient interactions in EMR and report results to team.
• Perform basic medical assistant functions under provider supervision.

• Completion of accredited medical assistant program (CAAHP/ABHES).
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification within first year and maintained thereafter.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider within three months of hire.
• Mandatory reporter abuse training completed within three months of hire.
