Care at this location focuses on crisis management, stabilization, and the development of a plan to return to community living, providing supportive outpatient services and community resources as needed.
Qualifications Behavioral Health TechnicianThe Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from preschool through geriatrics. All MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). MHTs may be required to work weekends, overtime, and have flexible hours.
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or an appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Required License/Certification: Successful completion of Management Aggressive Behavior Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation. Current Mandatory Reporter for Adult/Child.
Work Hours: Rotating weekends. Shifts include: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm; 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm.
