Civil Engineer

The Cloquet Mill is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to serve as the site's primary civil and structural engineering resource. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of civil infrastructure, building improvements, hydroelectric assets, and capital projects that directly support the success of our 700+ employee  this role, you will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Project Engineering teams to develop and execute projects that improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and long-term sustainability across the mill.

From initial concept through project completion, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the site.

What You'll DoServe as the mill's primary Civil/Structural Engineering resource.

Lead capital projects from feasibility and conceptual design through construction, commissioning, and closeout.

Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.

Provide technical guidance and support to project teams across the mill.

Manage engineering consultants, contractors, and vendors.

Support the design, maintenance, and improvement of mill structures and civil infrastructure.

Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving related to operations and maintenance.

Prepare hydro dam safety inspection reports and FERC-required documentation.

Drive continuous improvement opportunities that enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance.

What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively.

Project management, structural design, and civil infrastructure experience preferred.

Industrial manufacturing experience preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD preferred.

Pulp and paper industry experience is a plus.
