Work Hours:

Days/Evenings/Overnights/Rotating Shift (ex: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; hours may vary depending on the needs of the program)

Days of Work: Varies; may include weekends and holidays

Travel Required: Yes – transport and accompany individuals to community employment, community outings and recreational activities

Salary Range: $22.23 – $28.44 per hour

Classified Status: Classified

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Responsibilities

The job coach assists individuals with cognitive/intellectual disabilities or related conditions in obtaining employment, teaching them their job and then providing ongoing coaching while they work. The job coach also assists individuals in the community and at the program site to increase and develop skills through volunteer work and community activities.

  • Act as a liaison between businesses and program participants to secure community-based opportunities.
  • Document supported person’s activities, progress and care by recording, summarizing and maintaining data in standard forms and reports.
  • Participate in daily operations of the site to meet licensure, legal and applicable accreditation requirements and to adhere to established CBS/MSOCS policies and procedures.
  • Assist the program to meet Department of Labor, MN State licensing and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Current and valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand written materials, write sample reports, perform basic arithmetic, and read and interpret charts and graphs.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Experience implementing training/employment programs for individuals who have cognitive/intellectual disabilities, mental illness, chemical dependency, physical disability, brain injury and/or displaced workers.

Hiring Bonus

Candidates may be eligible for up to a $2,500 hiring bonus. Current State of Minnesota employees are not eligible for the hiring bonus.
