Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT Preferred) School-Based ABA

30+ Hours/Week | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Education Behavior Consultants (EBC) is hiring school-based Behavior Technicians / Registered Behavior Technicians to support students across the Central Valley during the school day. If you enjoy being on campus, collaborating with teachers, and helping students succeed in real classrooms, this role is for you.

We are deeply dedicated to the Valley and the people who live in it. Our students, our families, our schools. This is home, and we show up like it.

Who We Are

EBC is a behavior agency that partners closely with local school districts to support autistic and neurodivergent students in:

  • General education classrooms
  • Special education programs
  • Behavior-focused / IBP-style classrooms
  • Small group and 1:1 instructional settings

Our culture is:

  • Collaborative and supportive: we work as a team, not in isolation
  • Training-focused: we prioritize coaching, modeling, and growth
  • Student-centered: we care about dignity, independence, and meaningful progress
  • Valley-rooted: we are committed to serving our local community with integrity and consistency
What You’ll Do (School-Based Role)

As a school-based BT/RBT, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small-group behavioral and academic support to students throughout the school day
  • Implement ABA-based strategies in classrooms, on the playground, and across campus
  • Support goals related to communication, social skills, academics, and behavior regulation
  • Follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) designed by a BCBA and the school team
  • Collect clear, simple data on student progress and behavior
  • Collaborate with teachers, aides, and BCBAs to maintain consistency and alignment
  • Model calm, professional behavior during both routine and challenging moments
  • Help foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for students

This is an active, on-your-feet position that involves moving with students across different school settings.

Schedule & Availability (Required)

This position is school-based with consistent daytime hours:

  • Approximately 30+ hours per week
  • Required availability (non-negotiable):
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Follows the general school calendar, with potential adjusted opportunities during school breaks for center-based training or other activities

Because this role is tied directly to school schedules and student needs, open availability from 8:00–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, is required.

RBT Preferred

We welcome candidates with a range of experience levels, but for this role:

  • RBT certification is preferred
  • If you are not yet an RBT, we are especially interested in applicants who are motivated to pursue their RBT with support and training from our team
Who You Are

We are looking for people who:

  • Enjoy working with children and teens in a school setting
  • Can consistently commit to daytime school hours (8:00–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday)
  • Are patient, calm, and able to maintain professionalism in busy or challenging situations
  • Can follow structured plans and are open to coaching and constructive feedback
  • Communicate respectfully with students, school staff, and EBC team members
  • Are dependable, punctual, and take pride in delivering high-quality support
Helpful (but not required) experience:
  • Current RBT certification
  • Experience as a para educator/IA, classroom aide, tutor, camp counselor, or other school-based role
  • Experience in ABA, special education, or related fields
What We Offer

Structured training and onboarding tailored to school-based work

Ongoing support and supervision from BCBAs and clinical leaders

Opportunities to earn or maintain your RBT credential

A supportive school services team that values communication, problem-solving, and shared ownership

A culture that emphasizes respect, growth, and realistic expectations

The opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on students’ lives in the Central Valley.
