Engagement Specialist I –

Engagement Specialist I (ESI) works closely with parents/caregivers and community partners to provide case management and parent education to families. ESI is also responsible for planning and promoting family‑centered educational events, workshops, and trainings that build awareness of protective factors and parent leadership.
Essential Functions- Greets visitors in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Collaborates with the onsite Engagement Specialist II (ES II) to support the family’s needs.
- Develops a working knowledge of community resources and maintains a reference guide.
- Conducts outreach activities and administers Neighborhood Resource Center survey to engage the community.
- Assesses and evaluates family needs and provides guidance and case management either in person or virtually.
- Recruits participants, coordinates, plans, provides resource materials, and hosts Family Cafés and other EPU trainings/workshops.
- Ensures all Family Café surveys and other outcome assessments are completed.
- Collects, summarizes, and reports all data and information including the Family Café surveys and other outcome assessments as required by program.
- Enters data into identified databases;
Apricot 360 and ETO. - Continues skill development related to job responsibilities by attending approved trainings and participation in the program, department and personal goals.
- Maintains, manages, and processes client records and information confidentially meeting HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations.
- Follows all EPU health and safety policies and procedures, using universal precautions when diaper changing.
- Attends staff meetings, trainings, and in‑services.
- Works standard hours Monday through Friday 8:30 AM–6:00 PM; required to work Saturdays and evenings as needed.
- Holds a valid California Driver’s license and good driving record; able to provide proof of current automobile liability insurance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Engagement Specialist II, NRC Manager, Director of Parent Services and/or CEO.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Child Development or other related field. Experience of 5+ years may be considered in lieu of education.

- Knowledge of and experience in Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework.
- Experience providing hands‑on activities and engaging participants during workshops, trainings, and events.
- Ability to conduct virtual classes, workshops, meetings and trainings through Zoom or other platforms.
- Experience working with local community resources and human services.
- Ability to work with individuals/families of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Products.
- Valid California Driver’s license and good driving record; proof of liability insurance.
- Bi‑lingual skills are a plus.
Position is primarily located at The Fresno Neighborhood Resource Center facility; may require travel to families’ homes and use of vehicles. Must operate office equipment and sit for long periods working at a computer.
OtherThis position is a part‑time, 30 hours per week opportunity and is benefit eligible.
