• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment or Educational Sign Skills Evaluation score of 3.0-3.9, or pass a local performance indicator in American Sign Language, which includes receptive and expressive skills.
• High school diploma or the equivalent, AND one of the following:
  • Two years of college (48 units)
  • A.A. degree (or higher)
  • Passage of CBEST exam
  • Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction (Paraprofessional Test)
