Starting 08/05/2026, the successful candidate will lead and serve the student‑centered mission of Clovis Community College, contributing to a diverse community and a Hispanic‑Serving Institution.
Essential Functions- Provide on‑demand reference and extended research services to students.
- Conduct bibliographic instruction in classroom environments and design workshops.
- Collaborate with faculty to increase awareness of library resources and promote library resources to campus groups.
- Collaborate with other librarians to establish library policies, procedures, budget proposals and purchasing of the collection.
- Perform technical services duties; ensure consistent access to electronic resources.
- Plan and implement the college’s information competency goals; design and develop library research skills and technology courses, workshops and online tutorials.
- Teach in a variety of instructional settings, including evening, weekends, online and large‑group classes.
- Serve on and attend department, college and district committees; participate in program review and assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Perform all duties of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Master’s in Library Science/Information Science, a valid California Community College Credential, or equivalency.
- Experience incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion practices.
- Recent experience working with racially minoritized students and understanding historical exclusion in higher education.
- Experience with reader’s advisory, reference services, collection development and technical services functions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff; ability to work with computer technologies.
- Experience in academic library setting, especially a community college; at least one year of experience.
- Knowledge of information technology in libraries, assessment of student and program learning outcomes, program review, accreditation, and developing instructional strategies for non‑traditional or academically at‑risk students.
- Experience serving on college committees; knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
Duty days: 178 per year (prorated based on start of assignment). 178 duty days per year.
