Aequor is now hiring a full‑time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for the 2025‑2026 school year.

• Interpretation Services:
  Provide sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing during regular school hours, including classroom instruction, discussions, and other educational activities.
• Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):
  Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure that the student's preferred mode of communication (as designated in their IEP) is effectively supported.
• IEP Meetings:
  Attend IEP meetings and contribute as a professional consultant regarding the student's sign language needs.
• Collaboration:
  
  Foster collaboration between parents, teachers, and the school regarding services related to sign language interpretation.
• Additional
  
  Activities:
  
  Provide interpreting services for school activities beyond regular school hours, subject to the interpreter's discretion and district pre‑approval for compensation.

• ASL Fluency:
  Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential.
• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of Deaf Culture:
  Familiarity with Deaf culture and sensitivity to the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
