Assistant Child Development Center Director

Base pay range: $67,297.00/yr - $87,482.00/yr

Job Overview

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full‑time Assistant Child Development Center Director (GS‑1701‑10) to support the 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron at Cannon AFB, Clovis, NM. The position’s primary purpose is to serve as a first‑level supervisor and assist the Child Development Center Director in supervising day‑to‑day operations and providing specialized developmental childcare and instruction for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and administer child development programs.
  • Provide an overall safe and healthy environment to stimulate and sustain child interest.
  • Assist with administration and organize educational and developmental programs.
  • Perform supervisory duties and managerial authorities.

This position can close at any time. Salary range is $67,297 - $87,482 based on experience.

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • A degree in early childhood or child development.
Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)
  • Professional knowledge of child development theory, methodology, and practices.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing child care.
  • Knowledge of financial, budget, and resource management practices.
  • Knowledge of USDA food program requirements.
  • Skill in educating, counseling, and advising child care providers and parents.
  • Skill in conducting audits, studies, and inspections to determine feasibility of improvements.
