STEM Place Facilitator

Compensation

• Dependent upon education and experience.
• Hourly

This is a renewable position contingent upon grant funding. Under the supervision of the Division Chair for Math, Science, and Humanities and with the sponsorship of the Title V Grant, the incumbent will oversee and support the STEM Place by assisting any STEM students.

• Provide excellent customer service to everyone who visits or calls the STEM Place.
• Become familiar with the variety of STEM resources.
• Maintain monthly inventory.
• Assist in student recruitment and retention by meeting with STEM faculty, giving class presentations, and other outreach STEM activities.
• Maintain and submit all STEM Place forms including surveys and timesheets.
• Make sure all STEM Place materials are secure before closing the STEM Place.
• Maintain student confidentiality.
• Maintain a professional environment.

STEM Place hours are Monday – Thursday 8 am to 8 pm, and Fridays 10 am to 2 pm during the regular semester. Hours can vary according to needs. 29 max hours week. Requires frequent standing, sitting, walking and continuous movement within the College and off‑site locations. Requires frequent pushing and pulling of up to 10 lbs. Continuous handling of paper and paper materials required.

High school diploma required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in STEM is a plus. BA or MA in STEM preferred.
