The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to providing services responsive to the students it serves.

Providing instruction in Biology on the Clovis Community College campus and/or at off-site community campus locations, the instructor will be responsible for:

  • Teaching courses for Biology majors and non-majors as assigned;
  • Developing and maintaining curriculum and a transfer degree program in biology;
  • Maintaining and ordering equipment and supplies needed to outfit the laboratory sections associated with the biology program;
  • Cooperating with colleagues in course scheduling;
  • Participating in curriculum review and program development revision;
  • Communicating effectively and working cooperatively with students, staff, campus and community organizations;
  • Advising students and participating in student recruitment activities;
  • Participating in the accreditation process;
  • Participating in the evaluation of adjunct instructors;
  • Serving on and attending department, college, and district committees as needed;
  • Participating in course scheduling, program review, student learning outcome development and assessment to improve student learning;
  • Teaching assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evenings and/or weekends, online or off-campus and large group instruction classes as needed;
  • Otherwise fulfilling all of the duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
