Position SummaryPart-Time Temporary Adult Basic Education Instructor: ESL, Basic Reading, HSE, Citizenship, or Basic Computer Literacy or other Work-Based Skills.
Duties & Responsibilities- Assess students’ educational levels through standardized pre-and post-test assessments each semester, and evaluate their educational needs and goals.
- Teach practical communication and academic skills tailored to students’ abilities.
- Facilitate student learning by familiarizing with texts, workbooks, and resources, and developing effective teaching methods for adult education.
- Provide diverse learning experiences using various teaching techniques.
- Pre-assess students’ skill levels informally and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Understand adult learners’ needs, the ABE program, and its mission.
- Maintain and submit attendance, follow-up reports, timesheets, enrollment, registration, and progress reports.
- Assist in student recruitment and retention; promote Clovis Community College and available services.
- Attend mandatory teacher In-Service trainings.
