The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) performs inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on medical and non‑medical support equipment. The BMET ensures all work complies with OEM guidance, DoD instructions, applicable regulations, and unit directives.

• Follow OEM guidance, AFI, regulations, and unit direction.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of biomedical equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, performing repairs or coordinating with vendors.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation.
• Assist installation and configuration of new biomedical equipment.
• Manage life cycle of medical and non‑medical support equipment (oxygen generators, radiographic diagnostics, life support systems, etc.).
• Determine support items required for scheduled services, prepare purchase requisitions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of biomedical equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems related to medical devices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Effective communication skills to provide technical support and document service activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree.
• Graduate from the DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course or an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance Course.
• Graduate from the Planmeca digital dental course no later than 12 months after start.
• Minimum 4 years of field experience in inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, and maintenance of medical equipment, advanced diagnostics, maintenance, repair of medical and non‑medical support equipment.
• Pass client background screening for security clearance.
• Travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
