Overview

Lead Vehicle Mechanic – Clean Harbors, Clute, TX

Base pay range: $17.00/hr – $50.00/hr

This role leads the day‑to‑day operations of the shop, supervising maintenance work, ensuring DOT compliance, and maintaining accurate service and parts records.

• Health and safety compliance and safe work practices
• Preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and off‑site road repairs
• Daily unit checklists and daily maintenance duty completion
• Complete and submit documentation for PM schedules
• Conduct safety checks and annual vehicle inspections per federal laws
• Ensure equipment parking and DOT compliance
• Maintain clean work environment and comply with SOPs
• Other assignments as directed by management

• 5‑7 years diesel engine experience
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Team‑environment work ability
• Proficiency in electrical, computer, ECM, fuel, air, ABS, hydraulic systems and engines
• Proficiency in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy‑duty forklifts, roll‑off trucks, tractors, tankers, and related units
• Proficiency in tooling and equipment diagnostic and repair
• Background, drug, and physical test clearance upon hire
