Primary Responsibilities- Customer Service Leadership:
Build and maintain a culture focused on delivering exceptional service. - Safety Compliance:
Ensure all safety procedures are understood, implemented, and strictly followed. - Facility Management:
Maintain a clean, professional facility by promptly addressing spills, controlling dust, and cleaning dryers regularly. - Operational Coordination:
Work closely with the VP of Grain and Assistant Merchandiser to optimize logistics and manage inventory. - Transportation Oversight:
Coordinate with railroads for efficient loading and transportation. - Team Development:
Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor employees; delegate tasks effectively and provide follow‑up. - Cross‑Training:
Enhance team flexibility by developing skills across divisions. - Maintenance Excellence:
Ensure grain facilities remain in top condition. - Quality Assurance:
Maintain grain quality to meet end‑user requirements. - Issue Reporting:
Immediately report any operational concerns, including grain deterioration, unusual odors, or abnormal sounds. - Harvest Planning:
Set and communicate location hours during harvest to maximize customer satisfaction. - Scheduling:
Balance employee hours to meet customer needs while supporting work‑life balance. - Continuous Learning:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the grain business. - Other Duties:
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
