Extrusion Winder; Production Operator

The Extrusion Winder Operator works under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for setting up and maintaining one to four production lines. The role includes providing assistance and direction to machine operators, monitoring and recording the correlation of strapping produced to product specifications, troubleshooting production problems and communicating them to the Foreman, performing minor maintenance on the machines and related equipment, and completing housekeeping duties as assigned.

• Use product specifications to set up equipment to manufacture product.
• Change screen packs in extruders as needed.
• Monitor temperatures in extruders and ovens and adjust as necessary.
• Observe and maintain conditions of equipment, communicate problems, and write work orders when needed.
• Ensure proper raw materials and additives are used according to product specifications.
• Ensure all safety guards are in place and working properly.
• Responsible for troubleshooting production problems and taking corrective action.
• Clean and maintain equipment when applicable.
• Make minor repairs as necessary such as clearing and draining water lines, checking and changing filters, clearing or changing winder arms, and assisting with other maintenance.
• Provide guidance and aid to machine operators as necessary.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Good reading, writing, and basic math skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude and experience.
• Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
