The Challenge:
As a Nurse Practitioner, you have the opportunity to live our core values every day by helping our patients in all walks of life, providing high quality care, working with an excellent team, being a trusted resource for our patients and team members, and having an impact in the community through our engagement and volunteer efforts. In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic following established standards and practices.
This nurse practitioner will round at local nursing homes with Dr. Alda & Dr. Berry. Nursing home experience preferred.
Your Day to Day &
Essential Functions:
- You’ll comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
- You’ll perform a complete physical exam, obtain complete medical history and records findings. You will also orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures and interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.
- You will administer medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines. Sutures minor lacerations.
- You will instruct patient/family regarding medications and treatments.
- You will have the opportunity to educate patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- You will recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- You get to collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients, provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. You also will maintain and review patient records, charts and other pertinent information. In addition, you will posts tests and examination results and triage patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
- You will be required to maintain patient confidentiality
What You Need to Succeed:
- MSN Preferred
- Successful Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
- Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus two years of nurse practitioner experience.
- Current State of Ohio CNP or APRN license
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices and regulations to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
- Skill in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
- Ability to navigate through electronic medical records- EPIC experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
