Summary

Market Clerks are responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. They perform customer service, maintain a clean and stocked service counter, and ensure the preparation area and storage are clean and organized as per management guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage guests upon entry.
• Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Order and stock products to ensure quality and variety.
• Perform receiving duties, including breaking down loads, stacking, pricing, and organizing storage areas.
• Control inventory and monitor product quality, freshness, and expiration dates.
• Stock, rotate, and face products, and prevent shrinkage and damage.
• Set up and close the butcher block case following procedures.
• Follow daily work schedules and dress code.
• Adhere to attendance and tardiness policies.
• Perform meat wrapper duties as assigned.
• Assist with training new associates.
• Maintain the fresh meat counter and replenish supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Key Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 100 lbs), and perform related tasks including climbing and reaching.
• Ability to operate equipment like scales, knives, band saws, and grinders.
• Work in controlled atmospheres with temperatures around 50°F, handling products at 30°F.
• Manual dexterity and good coordination.
• Ability to work up to 8-10 hours in temperature-controlled environments.
• Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
