• This post is considered regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
• Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
• Applicants are exempt from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
• Failure to disclose convictions that are “spent” could result in dismissal, disciplinary action or removal from the General Teaching Council register.

Please upload your Head Teacher Report in the ‘COVER LETTER’ section of the application; you are not required to write a cover letter.

• Evidence of Catholic Church Approval – Applicants must seek Catholic Church Approval when submitting their application for the post and a copy of the Approval should be provided to the Chair of the Panel prior to the interview. Where this is “pending” we will seek confirmation from our Church Representative that approval application has been submitted.
• Applicants for permanent posts in a denominational primary school must also have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate.
• Applicants for denominational secondary schools need to have RC Approval for the school they are applying to.
