This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with previous leadership experience to take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering delivery across several high-specification commercial properties. Youll lead and support the on-site engineering team, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Acting as a key technical point of contact, youll work closely with the management team to maintain building performance, ensure statutory compliance, coordinate specialist subcontractors and provide technical support to the engineering team.
The role will also involve maintaining strong relationships with clients and occupiers, ensuring a consistently high level of service across the portfolio.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm (40-hour week)
Key Responsibilities Act as the lead engineer on site, ensuring the efficient delivery of planned preventative and reactive maintenance Provide day-to-day support and technical guidance to the on-site engineer Coordinate and supervise specialist contractors carrying out maintenance and project works Manage the permit-to-work system and review RAMS before works commence Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety legislation and company procedures Monitor service delivery through CAFM systems, ensuring maintenance records are accurate and up to date Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across electrical and mechanical building services Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client, occupiers and key stakeholders Support small project works and identify opportunities for continuous improvement Assist the Account Manager with quotations, technical recommendations and contractor management Monitor KPIs and SLAs, ensuring contractual obligations are consistently achieved Carry out regular site inspections to maintain engineering standards and compliance Requirements City & Guilds Level 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent recognised qualification Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Shift Leader or Senior Engineer within Facilities Management Strong knowledge of commercial building services and M&E maintenance Experience overseeing subcontractors and ensuring site compliance Familiarity with CAFM systems and maintenance reporting Excellent communication and client-facing skills A proactive, organised approach with strong technical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently while supporting the wider contract team
