Legislation Consultant
Location: Remote with travel to Clyde
Ir35 Status: Inside
Duration: 6 months
Rate: Price in
Security clearance required: SC
Responsibilities- Maintain and update the legislation register for applicable UK legal and regulatory requirements using agreed tools such as Lexis Library and SIMPLIFI.
- Produce the annual Legislation Compliance Report, including the review and update cycle and environmental considerations.
- Complete up to three deep‑dives into areas of concern per year and integrate findings and recommendations.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on compliance queries, assess impacts, and support the closure of actions.
- Support governance meetings.
- Maintain audit trails and records, follow the QMS and agreed communication routes (technical via Technical Contact; commercial via Commercial Contact); support briefings and knowledge transfer as required.
- Legislation register maintained and evidenced throughout the assignment.
- Annual Legislation Compliance Report (date agreed), including environmental considerations and up to three areas‑of‑concern reviews.
- Brief progress updates for governance; meeting inputs/actions support (ALCOM/Shore support) as required.
- Training and briefing materials and contribution to lessons learned/PTE as needed.
- Technical Contact:
Technical communications, priorities and progress reporting. - Commercial Contact:
Commercial and contract correspondence. - Governance forums & stakeholders: ALCOM/Shore support meetings; site contacts;
MoD and policy/process owners; safety and environment SMEs; engineering and assurance functions.
Security clearance: Candidates holding or who have held high‑level security clearance are highly encouraged. All successful applicants must obtain clearance before appointment, which may take at least ten weeks.
