As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.

Our Regional Centres are located at Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. This post will be based in our Clydebank Regional Centre.

The Clinical Services Manager (CSM) will provide operational, professional and clinical leadership within one of NHS 24's main contact centres. An integral part of the role is to carry operational responsibility and accountability for the management of NHS 24's virtual clinical services to meet the needs of the 5.3 million population of Scotland on a 24-hour basis, ensuring safe, effective, patient centred care.

The Clinical Service Manager will be accountable to the Head of Clinical Services for the management and control of resources within NHS
24. The successful candidate will implement, achieve and deliver performance objectives within quality standards.

• Lead, manage, motivate and develop a team of staff across all disciplines including SCN, Team managers, pharmacists, call handlers to ensure that they contribute effectively to the achievement of service objectives
• Ensure systems are in place to manage and monitor clinical governance responsibilities in line with the relevant professional standards and regulatory frameworks
• Provide visible senior clinical professional leadership and advice both nationally and in the designated regional centre, creating capacity, capability and confidence in people and teams
• Undertake the role of the National Duty CSM on a rotational basis which includes performing an on-call commitment for the national service. The post holder will carry operational responsibility for the management of NHS 24s virtual clinical services to meet the needs of the 5.3 million population of Scotland on a 24-hour basis, ensuring safe, effective, patient centred care
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislation and Infection Prevention Control measures within NHS
  24 ensuring processes are in place to identify risks, undertake appropriate risk assessments and implement corrective action as necessary

• Be NMC registered and educated to SCQF Level 11, or demonstrate equivalent experience
• Display extensive Clinical, Operational Management, Change Management and Service Improvement skills

NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a permanent contract on Band 8b £74,003 - £79,164 Per Annum (pro rata if applicable). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
