Position Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse / ODP to join the Cardiac Theatre Leadership Team within the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital. Golden Jubilee University National Hospital has traditionally supported NHS Scotland to deliver Heart and Lung services, both locally and nationally, and to provide high volume elective surgery.

This includes the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service, Scottish Advanced Heart Failure Service and the National Organ Retrieval Service. We currently have 20 theatres, four of which are dedicated to Cardiac surgery.

If you are successful in applying for this post, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the development and performance of a pioneering team of dynamic individuals responsible for the delivery of perioperative care required for a wide range of complex Cardiac surgical procedures, as well as Adult Congenital procedures and all that the Heart Failure Service entails – e.g. Heart Transplant, Mechanical Support Programme and any complicated Cardiology/extraction procedures.

Lead and support the dynamic Cardiac Scrub team in collaboration with the SCN. Ensure high standards of care in perioperative settings, manage complex cardiac surgical procedures, facilitate training and learning opportunities for the team, coordinate on‑call rosters and support flexible working arrangements.

Experienced Registered Nurse or ODP with strong leadership capabilities and a drive and ambition to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Flexible working required – covering on call rosters overnight and  Golden Jubilee encourages flexible working options for this role.
