Asset Management and Investment Lead

Head of Assets & Investment North West | Social Housing | Senior Leadership We are working with a social housing organisation in the North West to recruit an experienced Head of Assets & Investment to lead its strategic asset management, investment and sustainability agenda. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced property professional who can combine strategic thinking with strong operational delivery, ensuring homes are safe, well maintained, financially sustainable and supported by robust asset data.

Reporting into the Director of Asset Management, you will lead the Asset & Investment function, with responsibility for asset condition, investment planning and delivery, decarbonisation and the ongoing development of a data-led approach to understanding property performance.

Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic asset management and investment service. Develop and deliver planned investment and decarbonisation programmes. Ensure effective oversight of stock condition, asset performance and investment requirements. Manage significant budgets, ensuring strong financial control and value for money. Use asset data and insight to inform investment priorities and long-term planning. Lead contractor procurement and performance to deliver high-quality services.

Strengthen governance, reporting and assurance to senior leadership and Board. Identify and maximise opportunities for external and grant funding. Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and service delivery. Lead, develop and inspire high-performing teams through change. Build strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders and external partners. About you We are looking for an established social housing asset management professional with significant experience of leading strategic asset management and/or planned investment services.

You will ideally bring:
Strong knowledge of social housing asset management, investment and property compliance. Experience developing and delivering significant planned investment programmes. Knowledge of decarbonisation, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Strong commercial and financial management experience.

Experience of contractor procurement and management. A strong understanding of asset data, stock condition and investment planning. Experience providing high-quality reporting and assurance to senior leadership and Board. Proven leadership skills with experience developing teams and improving performance. Relevant property/building qualifications such as MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent experience . This would suit an experienced Head of Assets, Head of Asset Management, Head of Investment, Senior Asset Manager or similar senior property professional looking for an opportunity to influence asset strategy and investment at organisational level.
