Overview
An amazing opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to be seconded for a 12 month period to the dynamic team within the West of Scotland Regional Heart & Lung Cardiac Cath Labs Department at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. The Cath Lab Dept consists of 5 labs and 2 associated Day Wards. The Cath Labs are a busy, demanding and rewarding department in which to work, dealing with patients undergoing coronary, structural heart, adult congenital and electrophysiology procedures.
In addition, we provide primary and rescue PCI for those patients with STEMI as well as in patient treatment for those with other acute coronary syndromes. This offers excellent experience and learning in dealing with these challenging acute patients and unique opportunities for learning and professional and personal development.
- Provide primary and rescue PCI for patients with STEMI and other acute coronary syndromes.
- Assist with procedures involving coronary, structural heart, adult congenital and electrophysiology cases.
- Contribute to the on‑call cath lab rota following a period of training.
- Work across the Interventional Cardiology Department within the Cardiology Wards and Coronary Care Unit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and a positive approach.
- Ability to work effectively within a busy team.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Ability to adapt to the diverse and variable demands of caring for patients within the Cath Lab Department.
- Willingness to work variable hours and support on‑call duties.
