We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring Senior Charge Nurse to lead our busy Orthopaedic Ward (Ward 4 East ERAS) on a fixed term basis 12 month contract championing safe, effective, and person-centred care while supporting a high performing multidisciplinary team.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide inclusive, handson leadership for the ward, modelling evidence based, person-centred practice.
  • Drive quality, safety and improvementusing patient feedback, audits and learning to enhance outcomes.
  • Lead workforce planning, rostering and skillmix to ensure safe, efficient, cost effective care.
  • Coach, develop and appraise colleagues; build a supportive learning culture with strong clinical supervision.
  • Own daytoday operationsescalating and resolving issues, partnering across services to optimise patient flow.
  • Uphold professional, legislative and organisational standards, with exemplary recordkeeping and governance.
About You

You’ll bring proven clinical credibility in orthopaedics and the leadership confidence to motivate others through change.

You will have:

  • NMC UK first-level registration (Registered Nurse) and a relevant degree/leadership qualification (or working towards).
  • Extensive postregistration experience in orthopaedic nursing and sound knowledge of the legal/ethical framework for safe care.
  • Leadership/management experience with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and support others with empathy and integrity.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and confidence managing ward/department budgets.
