Leicestershire Library Service are seeking applications for a Mobile Library Driver/ Assistant. This is a permanent full-time position of 37 hours per week based at Coalville Library.

The successful applicant will deliver valuable library services to communities across Leicestershire. This role involves both driving a mobile library vehicle and delivering excellent customer service at the different mobile stops.

The position involves driving predetermined routes in mostly rural villages across Leicestershire, including visits to schools, nurseries and pre-schools and regular village/town locations keeping to a set timetable.

You will be delivering a library service from the vehicle and responding to customer queries.

The post holder will also require a current valid driving license to drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes. A driver Certificate of Professional Competence is desirable but not essential as training can be given.

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

• LGV Licence (c) Class or HGV Class (2) Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  Competent and confident with driving large vehicles in both urban and rural settings.A C1 entitlement to drive vehicles up to 7.5tis necessary to drive our Mobile Libraries
• Current experience of driving a large goods vehicle. Able to create a friendly and welcoming environment for a diverse range of customers. Experience of working with members of the public
• Confident in using IT(training will be given on specific library systems)
• Excellent at multi-tasking, efficient, happy to work under pressure & confident with working alone on a Mobile Library
• Passionate about what public libraries offer, and able to promote our services
• Library experience is desirable, but we also welcome candidates who have demonstrated exceptional customer service elsewhere
